Uninterrupted Sustainable Silent Reading (USSR)

To help students develop reading interests and a regular reading habit, USSR suggests a session for everyone reads silently before the morning assembly every day.

By setting reading goals at different stages, students will gain a sense of achievement through meeting different reading targets. Therefore, the school library collects data from classes and individual readers about the books they read. The awards of ‘The Most Number of Books Read’ are monthly presented along with small gifts to the winning classes and individual readers per each year level. The winners would be role models of having a good reading habit

Besides, every student is invited to join the ‘Reading Programme for Child and Youth’, which is organised by the Hong Kong Public Libraries, as to encourage them to have a lifelong reading habit.
