76 Doing Exercise in Your Daily Life
Doing Exercise in Your Daily Life
Ms. Grace Lui
During the pandemic, we may be vulnerable and confined in our flats. Sometimes, this induces excuses of remaining dormant at home. However, engaging in various physical activities enhances both our mental and physical health. A previous research conducted by Happel, B., Davies, C., & Scott, D. (2012) suggested that physical and mental health, social wellbeing, cognitive and academic performance were improved by having regular exercise. Although it may not be possible to participate in some sports activities which involve a large group of people during the pandemic, it does not imply that we have to give up regular training of our muscle and physical strength.
The choices of sports activities may be limited when we work from home or have online lessons. Still, we can search for workout videos on the Internet. It can be a 20-minute training session targeting certain body muscle strength or some dance steps that interest you. Watch the training videos attentively with your parents and set the most suitable schedule for yourself according to your abilities and needs. Doing exercise can be full of fun and a wonderful way to spend time with your family too!
More outdoor activities will be gradually available when the pandemic recedes. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and start planning on possible outdoor family activities in the coming future.
